Look at Liam go! Notice how at the beginning of the video, I’m holding the cart handle and Liam pushes my hand off like he saying, “I got this. I don’t need your help, Mom.” This video was from 4/13/12 and was literally his 3rd time to push the cart across the carpet. He was so excited with himself. It was a very proud moment complete with a few tears of joy to see him getting closer to such a big milestone.
Liam LOVES his swing. He crawls to the back door and bangs on the window to let you know when it is time to go outside. Only problem with loving his swing so much is that he thinks that he needs to go out and swing EVERY time the door opens. I really am happy though that he loves playing out on his swing so much.
Liam’s first Easter! He loved taking things out of his Easter basket. Penske was anxious to help out too, as always, trying to get the focus of attention back on himself for just a bit. Liam’s Easter basket had a ball, a puzzle, his own set of keys, and baby food!
Liam’s Baptism- March 24, 2012 With his godparents- Amanda and Dan
Wearing a traditional heirloom Irish linen christening gown. This gown was worn by my grandmother and great aunt; my dad and his brother, sister, and cousin; as well as my brothers, sister, and my cousins! Such a neat part of family tradition and his hands almost didn’t fit thru the wrists on the gown! Luckily grandpa saved the day!
It’s officially spring in Texas when they Bluebonnets are out. We could not miss this opportunity and right of passage for all children in Texas, the annual picture in the bluebonnets. Liam was not all that excited about sitting in the grass. The first half of all the pictures we took were awkward posses of Liam trying his best not to let anything touch him. Afterwards I realized he had never sat in the grass before.
From 2/11/12- just splashing away. Liam loves his bath and bath toys. He has a boat that he plays with every night, reminds me of his Uncle Will’s obsession with boats when he was little.
From 2/11/12- Cute little giggles and check out Liam’s teeth- he has 4 showing. He looks like a little vampire right now but tonight I noticed that one of his big front teeth has broken the skin. So that makes 5 teeth! It was the grumpiest week we have ever had with Liam so I’m glad the tooth cutting was successful!
From 2/6/12- crawling like crazy now! 3 weeks from his first crawling steps. Each day he gets a little braver and ventures out a little further to see what he can find. He’s totally bored with his toys and only wants to go to the electric outlets and grab wires! Last weekend we babyproofed- gates, locks, outlet covers, cabinet pulls. Penske is not fond of the new gate at all.
Its so crazy how fast he is changing now! In early Dec he was just learning to sit up on his own. By Christmas, he could sit by himself without toppling over for long amounts of time. In early Jan. he learned how to get to sitting by himself. Shortly after he transitioned to all fours and started rocking. Then on 1/16/11 he took his first 3 “crawling” steps to get to his daddy’s laptop, of course! The next day he started babbling long strings of same sounds! His daddy was so please to finally hear some “dada” sounds. I was in tears, so exciting to hear your son learning to talk especially for a speech therapist. The very next day we discovered 3 teeth has erupted! It was a huge week. Here is a little clip of Liam babbling a little.
Here is a great video of Liam laughing when playing with Penske! I apologize the orientation of the video is off but wanted to post all these belly laughs that we captured.
